Bank Negara Indonesia's third-quarter net profit slumped as net interest income slipped and amid higher provisioning expenses amid the pandemic.

The Indonesian lender's net profit fell 64% in to 4.32 trillion rupiah ($293.8 million), it said during an investor conference Tuesday.

Net interest income fell 0.8% to IDR26.65 trillion over the third quarter. Non-interest income grew 7.2% to IDR8.71 trillion.

The lender reported higher provisioning expenses due to the elevated numbers of loans at risk and non-performing loans due to the impact of Covid-19 on the Indonesian economy.
