PopCom, a vending solutions provider, will supply its autonomous retail technology to Qatar-based telecom giant Ooredoo for its retail stores, starting in Qatar, according to a press release. Ooredoo serves more than 121 million people across 10 markets worldwide.

PopCom is already shipping its PopShop autonomous retail machines and could launch in Ooredoo stores as soon as December.

Ooredoo's self-service focused stores will provide shoppers a frictionless experience powered by automation.

"We invest heavily in innovation in our pursuit of complete customer satisfaction, actively seeking partnerships such as this one through which we can expand and enhance our offering, and we look forward to rolling out PopCom's autonomous retail technology across our shops for the benefit of our customers," Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari, director PR at Ooredoo, said in the press release.

PopCom will sponsor a panel session, "Phygital: Where Physical and Digital Intersect," at the Self-Service Innovation Summit, Dec. 14-16 in Hollywood, Florida.
