Uppsala is continuing to grow and the municipality's population is forecast to reach 320,000 by 2050. This population increase is the main reason that Uppsala Vatten needs to upgrade and modernize the Kungsängsverket sewage treatment plant.
"We will now modernize the treatment plant in cooperation with NCC. NCC has extensive experience of water and sewage projects, which was a crucial factor in our procurement of a contractor. Their expert knowledge and the fact that they could offer a proposal that was financially advantageous for Uppsala residents led to our choice of NCC for this assignment," says Hans Hörting, Project Manager at Uppsala Vatten.
With a scheduled start in
NCC has several similar ongoing projects in this field and the project will be conducted together with experts in the areas of water and environmental technology.
