Forshuvud's current hydropower plant on the Dalälven River has been in operation since 1990, but hydropower has been generated in the area for a century. The power plant's dam is equipped with four floodgates, each with a size of approximately 8 x 17 meters and weighing about 100 tons, and these have to be replaced. As part of the assignment, NCC will construct cofferdams to exclude the water from around the floodgates in conjunction with the renovation.
