LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) _ Masco Corp. (MAS) on Wednesday reported third-quarter profit of $275 million.

On a per-share basis, the Livonia, Michigan-based company said it had net income of $1.05. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.04 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 79 cents per share.

The maker of Behr paint, Delta faucets and other building products posted revenue of $1.98 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.85 billion.

Masco shares have risen 12% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased roughly 5%.
