Kimberly-Clark Corp. said Monday that FX rates had a favorable effect on sales in the third quarter.

The Irving, Texas, maker of Kleenex tissue reported third-quarter sales of $5 billion, up 7% from a year earlier, while changes in foreign-currency exchange rates increased sales by 1%.

Kimberly-Clark said that the combined benefit of foreign-currency exchange rates and the acquisition of Softex Indonesia is expected to increase full-year sales by 3%, after some costs are considered, versus prior assumption of foreign-currency benefit of 1% to 2% and a 2% increase from Softex Indonesia acquisition.
