THE CEOs of the US' major banks were yesterday grilled by both Democratic and Republicans during a hearing before the House Committee on Financial Services. During the Capitol Hill hearing - titled Holding megabanks accountable: Oversight of America's largest consumer facing banks - lawmakers questioned the CEOs about consumer finances, mortgages and their ties with Russia. Democrats also pressed executives on fees, the closure of bank branches in poorer areas and the implications of several larger mergers in recent years. JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon, Citi's Jane Fraser, Bank of America's Brian Moynihan and Truist Financial Corporation's William Rogers Jr (pictured) were in attendance.
