Thailand-based Home Product Center PCL's first-half net profit slumped from a year earlier as sales were hurt due to the temporary closure of stores because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Net profit fell 25% to 2.21 billion baht ($70.2 million), while revenue fell 11% to THB28.37 billion, the company said Wednesday.

Sales were severely affected by the government's directive to close business venues, despite a substantial increase in online sales, Home Product said.

The company added that its financials were hit by lower rental income.

Home Product said it has started to see some pick-up in sales from its stores in June as pandemic restrictions were eased.
