• Delivery rollout kicks off with Bristol and Birmingham alongside continued expansion in London, Newcastle and Glasgow
  • Vote for Greggs delivery to come to your city

Wednesday 15 January - If you're one of the many clamouring to get your hands on the Greggs Vegan Sausage Roll or indeed any of their much-loved breakfast rolls, bakery goods or sandwiches, then you'll be pleased to hear that Greggs has confirmed Just Eat as its official delivery partner.

Following a successful trial in London, Newcastle and Glasgow, Greggs has opted to work exclusively with Just Eat to provide the nation's leading food-on-the-go favourites, direct to your door. Further rollout will begin this week, adding Bristol and Birmingham to existing cities.

The order of the rollout will be determined by customer demand. Just Eat asked the nation to tell them which cities should get delivery first and over 38,000 people responded. After Birmingham and Bristol this week, delivery will next launch in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham in the spring, with a plan to achieve national coverage by the end of the year.

Andrew Kenny, Just Eat UK Managing Director commented: 'We're proud to be the only food delivery app that can bring you the likes of the Greggs Vegan Sausage Roll wherever you are.

This is an exciting exclusive partnership for Just Eat. Greggs has proved extremely popular with our customers, especially during breakfast, demonstrating that as a nation we love the convenience of getting our favourite food delivered - be it a Greggs bacon baguette and coffee on a Tuesday or your local Thai at the weekend.'

Roger Whiteside, Greggs Chief Executive said: 'We know from the trials we have carried out, that our customers love the idea that they can get Greggs delivered directly to their door and we're delighted to now be working with Just Eat to provide that service to our customers across the UK by the end of this year.'

The partnership signals Just Eat's continual expansion beyond traditional takeaways. Alongside Greggs, Just Eat's 12million UK customers can also order from high street eateries such as KFC, Subway and Wagamama as well as locally loved restaurants including Toby Carvery, Turtle Bay caribbean restaurant, and Creams dessert parlour. In addition, Just Eat offers pizza delivery from selected Asda supermarkets.

Greggs first became available for delivery on Just Eat last year, with the first order placed at 9.10am on 18 June from Byker in Newcastle. Since then it's been an immediate hit. Top selling delivery items include the iconic Sausage Roll, Vegan Sausage Roll, Steak Bake, and breakfast deal which includes either a bacon, sausage or omelette roll/baguette with a hot drink, water or orange juice. Orders can be placed from as early as 7am, with no minimum spend.

Greggs fans can still vote for their city to receive delivery next as Just Eat and Greggs will be reviewing rollout plans every few months and prioritising cities with the highest level of demand. About Greggs

Greggs is a leading UK food-on-the-go retailer with 2,050 shops nationwide and serving over six million customers a week.

Celebrating its 80th birthday in 2019, Greggs diversified its growth strategy in 2013 to transform the business from a traditional bakery business into a modern, attractive food-on-the-go retailer, bringing about significant changes to the quality and relevance of its product offer as well as the positioning and refurbishment of its shop estate.

The business has invested £100 million to support growth and reshape its own supply chain in order to compete more effectively in the food-on-the-go market. The major investment programme created additional manufacturing centres of excellence and increased capacity to support shop expansion substantially beyond 2,000 outlets in the UK. As part of this, the retailer has extended its company-managed shop reach to new territory in Devon, in addition to opening further shops in Northern Ireland. It also successfully developed a new Drive Thru format to compete effectively in this type of location and continues to seek new sites.

Greggs brand proposition brings together everything good that Greggs does, from serving freshly made delicious sandwiches to offering Fairtrade hot drinks and supporting more than 530 breakfast clubs in schools across Britain, playing a fundamental role in how the nation feels every day.

Greggs continue to specialise in daily fresh shop-made sandwiches and savouries baked off fresh in the shop ovens throughout the day. These are further complemented by popular and growing ranges including freshly ground coffee, breakfast, confectionery, heat to eat sandwiches and Balanced Choice.

The Balanced Choice range offers a choice of, sandwiches, salads, soups, porridge, fruit, yoghurt and drinks, which are all less than 400 calories and meet amber and green on the nutritional traffic light system for fat, saturated fat, salt and sugar.

Greggs' loyalty scheme 'Greggs Rewards', is a mobile payment app designed to reward its customers for their loyalty whilst making shopping across its shops more convenient, quicker and easier.
