European ADRs Move Higher in Thursday Trading

(MT Newswires) -- American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.55% higher at 1,029.00 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Thursday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which rose 6.6% and 4.3% respectively. They were followed by financial services company Credit Suisse Group (CS) and biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP), which were up 3.1% and 3%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company ERYTECH Pharma (ERYP) and 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET), which fell 16% and 5.2% respectively. They were followed by furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which dropped 3.7% and 2.8%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL) and cruise line operator Carnival Corporation (CUK), which climbed 13% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by construction materials supplier CRH (CRH) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which rose 3.5% each.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin Corporation (AMRN) and Verona Pharma (VRNA), which fell 3.7% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC), which were off 1.5% and 1.2%.
