Doosan Bobcat announced on the 9th that it will launch ZTR Mower*, which has its own Bobcat brand, in North America, and is launching into the landscape equipment market in earnest. Doosan Bobcat plans to expand sales of this new product through its existing dealer network, while strengthening sales synergy with its flagship product line, small construction equipment.

Zero-turn mower (ZTR Mower): This is an equipment for landscaping such as weeding while boarding the equipment. By applying the zero-turn method (0 degree rotation radius), the work efficiency is superior compared to the existing equipment.

Doosan Bobcat entered the landscaping equipment market last year by acquiring the Zero Turnmore business from Schiller Ground Care, an American landscaping equipment manufacturer. The zero turnmore market in North America is about 810,000 units a year and $4.8 billion (about 5.7 trillion won), recording a stable growth rate of 7.8% annually over the past five years.

Initially, Doosan Bobcat was planning to release a zero-turn mower with Bobcat's own design at the end of this year, but accelerated product development by working faster than expected with Post Merger Integration (PMI) work, which accelerated the release schedule by 3 months. Was successful.

Doosan Bobcat plans to settle in the Zero Turnmore market early based on its high brand awareness and dealer capabilities in the North American market. Starting with sales of about 100 billion won this year, it aims to increase sales more than double by 2024.

An official from Doosan Bobcat said, 'The North American landscape market is showing a relatively stable growth trend as the demand for Hobby Farmers, who grows landscaping as a hobby or grows crops as a hobby despite the influence of Corona 19, is steadily increasing.' The expansion of the GME (small equipment for agriculture and landscaping)** product lineup will also maximize sales synergy with existing products.'

** GME (Ground Maintenance Equipment): Small equipment used for agricultural and landscaping work.

Doosan Bobcat has been spurring the expansion of its GME business since last year. The compact tractor, which was launched in the North American market in September last year, recorded sales of about 1,700 units in the first half alone, and existing GME products such as mini track loaders (MTL) and utility vehicles (UV) are showing steady growth. In the first half of this year, GME sales in North America were about $140 million, more than doubled year-on-year.
