Starting this season, Deutsche Wohnen is the sports jersey sponsor of the 3rd division men's volleyball team ASV Dachau. To thank the company for its support, representatives of the club - Josef Wolf, sports director for volleyball, Samuel Sadorf, vice-captain of the men's 1st volleyball team, and Patrick Schwaack, head of marketing - presented Henrik Thomsen, a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen, with one of the club's new jerseys. The presentation was made in a small ceremony on ASV Dachau's club premises.

Henrik Thomsen, Chief Development Officer (CDO) at Deutsche Wohnen SE: "At Deutsche Wohnen we like to get involved in places that we are familiar with, namely in our estates. Here in Dachau, a new, attractive, sustainable neighbourhood that is fit for the future will be built in the next few years on the site of the former paper factory. With the support of ASV Dachau, we would like to show our commitment to the locality here and now."

Josef Wolf, sports director for volleyball at ASV Dachau, is delighted at the support his club will be receiving: "We are very pleased to have won Deutsche Wohnen as a partner for ASV Dachau. We are confident that together we can lay the foundation for a long-term and successful collaboration."

On the site of the former paper factory in Dachau, the project developer Isaria München Projektentwicklungs GmbH, a subsidiary of Quarterback Immobilien AG,is working with Deutsche Wohnen to build a district in the town during the coming years that will combine residential and commercial buildings with cultural and social facilities to create an attractive and sustainable neighbourhood. In supporting ASV Dachau, Deutsche Wohnen is following its own guiding principle of assuming social responsibility and engaging with the neighbourhoods and cities in which the company is active.

Deutsche Wohnen

Deutsche Wohnen is one of the leading publicly listed residential property companies in Europe. The business focus of the company is on managing its own portfolio of residential properties in dynamic metropolitan regions and conurbations in Germany. Deutsche Wohnen sees itself as having both a social responsibility and a duty to maintain and newly develop good-quality and affordable housing in vibrant residential neighbourhoods. As at 30 September 2021, the portfolio comprised a total of around 158,000 units, of which 155,000 were residential and around 3,000 commercial.

ASV Dachau

ASV Dachau was founded in 1908 and, with its more than 4,000 members, is one of the largest sports clubs in the Munich metropolitan region.

The volleyball section of the club includes a total of 10 adult teams (male and female) and more than 100 children and young people in all age groups. Over the past 28 years, the youth section has won more than 10 German Youth Championships.

Currently, the men's 1st team is playing in the 3rd division and has set itself the medium-term goal of returning to the national league. To help achieve this goal and to lead the team to further success, the high-quality trainer Patrick Steuerwald, who himself made over 200 appearances in the 1st division as a player, has been hired.

In the 1990s, the men's volleyball team at ASV Dachau was a leading light in the 1st division. It won the 1st division twice, the German Cup once and also reached the final of the Champions League.
