Delta celebrated The Atlanta Braves' 2021 World Series win on Thursday with the dedication of a newly designed 737-800 aircraft featuring a commemorative World Champions logo.

The plane, which was painted by employees at Delta TechOps, features a dual-sided World Champions emblem and signature Braves "A" toward the nose of the aircraft.

Alongside Delta employees, CEO Ed Bastian was joined by Atlanta Braves President and CEO Derek Schiller, team manager Brian Snitker, second baseman Ozzie Albies and mascot Blooper at Delta TechOps to unveil the customized plane and honor the Braves' victory.

"As the Official Airline of Champions, it's an honor to dedicate this aircraft to our hometown team and recognize their inspiring performance and triumphant win in 2021," Bastian said. "Our longstanding partnership with the Atlanta Braves is built on our shared values of excellence, resiliency and the desire to be the best, and we look forward to cheering on our team to many more victories in the future."

Former Major League Baseball player and Braves broadcast legend Joe Simpson joined Delta for the dedication and entertained the crowd with several giveaways, featuring items like signed baseballs, game tickets, special-edition World Series jerseys and replicas of the Braves World Champions plane to Delta employees hand-selected to attend the event.

Delta has been carrying The Braves for 56 years, dating to the franchise's arrival in Atlanta in 1966. The World Series championship plane joins three other commemorative aircraft Delta has previously dedicated to members of The Braves organization, including Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones.

"Delta Air Lines has been a trusted partner of the Braves since we first came to Atlanta in 1966. Along the way, they have flown our team to every away game and returned us back home safely. They were an integral part of our World Championship run, flying our team throughout the season, including our historic postseason," said Schiller. "We are honored to be recognized with this new World Champions commemorative plane, which will celebrate the remarkable 2021 season and all of the fans and partners who were part of our championship."

Braves fans and Delta customers will be able to travel on the World Champions plane, which will fly routes to and from key markets throughout the United States. Official Airline of Champions

The Braves 2021 victory further solidified Delta's status as the Official Airline of Champions, with Delta becoming the first airline to carry the champions of the five biggest national sports on its charter aircraft in one season.
