Coeur Mining, Inc. (NYSE:CDE) is looking for acquisitions. Mitch Krebs, Chief Executive Officer, said "we will continue to invest in exploration, but M&A is something we will also evaluate and pursue, to the extent that we can generate appropriate returns. But it has to be in the right jurisdictions, and for us that is a North America-only focus. It's got to be gold and silver, we are not going to deviate from that metal profile. We want to maintain the right kind of balance across our assets. We don't want to add too many development projects so that the balance of our portfolio is too focused on development stage projects, but we also want to make sure we have a good balance across the operating assets as well. On the one hand you don't want them to be too small, where you are spending a lot of management time and effort on something that doesn't have a meaningful impact on the business, but on the other hand you don't want assets that are so big that the whole company swings based on how that one single asset performs. So we want to make sure any of the M&A opportunities we are looking at maintain or improve that overall balance".
