China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. said Monday that it lost 0.54 million mobile billing subscribers in May, bringing the cumulative net loss of its mobile subscribers for the January-May period to 9.73 million.

However, the state-owned telecom operator had a net addition of 1.9 million 4G subscribers last month and its total 4G users grew by 4.5 million for the first five months of the year.

The company had 308.7 million mobile users, including 5G subscribers, as of May, it said without giving an account of its 5G users.
