China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited received the resignation of Mr. Liu Cheng, chairman of the board of supervisors and employee representative supervisor of the Bank. Due to the work adjustments, Mr. Liu resigned from the position of chairman of the board of supervisors and employee representative supervisor of the Bank. The resignation of Mr. Liu shall become effective from 22 November, 2021. Mr. Liu has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board of supervisors of the Bank nor is there any matter that needs to notify the shareholders and the Employee Representative Assembly of the Bank. Mr. Liu has also confirmed that he does not have any action or claim, existing or pending, against the Bank. During his tenure as the chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the Bank, Mr. Liu adhered to the leadership of the PRC Communist Party, conscientiously implemented the state decisions and plans and regulators' requirements, and led the Board of Supervisors to perform its duties faithfully, diligently, compliantly and efficiently. He continuously innovated the supervision practices of the Board of Supervisors, focused on the central works and the main responsibility of supervisory works of the Bank, strengthened supervision in key areas, and made active contributions to safeguarding the interests of the Bank, the shareholders and the legitimate rights and interests of stakeholders. He played an important role in strengthening the Bank's corporate governance system, improving corporate governance capabilities, fostering the prudent operation of the Bank, and forestalling and defusing financial risks. The Board of Supervisors highly recognizes the outstanding contributions made by Mr. Liu to the Bank during his tenure and would like to express its sincere gratitude to him. Mr. Liu Cheng, male, born in December 1967, has been serving as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Bank since February 2021, a member of the Party Committee of the Bank since April 2018 and was the chairman of the Board of Supervisors and an employee representative supervisor of the Bank from April 2018 to November 2021. Mr. Liu is concurrently a director of Asian Financial Cooperation Association (AFCA). Mr. Liu used to be a secretary at the division chief level, a secretary at the deputy director general level and a secretary at the director general level at the General Office of the State Council; and an official at the division chief level, a first Secretary, a researcher and deputy division chief of Division One of the Second Secretary Bureau at the General Office of the State Council. Previously, he was an assistant researcher and researcher of the Finance Division under the Finance Department of the National Development and Reform Commission. Mr. Liu has rich experience in development, reform and finance. He graduated from the Finance Department of the Central College of Finance and Economics and the School of Finance at Renmin University of China. He obtained a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and a doctoral degree in economics and is a research fellow.
