BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (AP) _ Barnes & Noble Education Inc. (BNED) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $7.5 million.

The Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 15 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 22 cents per share.

The operator of book stores on college campuses posted revenue of $595.5 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $3.47. A year ago, they were trading at $3.88.
