Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, has announced that it will receive Green Sports applications till 2 February 2022. The bank is currently receiving applications along with the necessary documents digitally through its electronic platform available at the following link: (click here). Members from interested sports teams can view the application details and apply for the same using a mobile phone, tablet or a computer as per their convenience. The bank has encouraged all interested teams to commence the process at the earliest and ensure that applications are submitted well ahead of the deadline.

The bank has announced that it will review and evaluate all applications and the 20 winners for 2022 will be announced as per the qualification criteria. The scope of Green Sports support for sports teams include greening of football fields with natural or synthetic turf, floodlights or water desalination equipment in areas facing problems of water salinity. Ensuring wider representation, the Green Sports programme extends to develop sustainable sports infrastructure across the Sultanate. Also, the facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities, leading to stronger community bonding and greater positive behaviour among young people. Bank Muscat is proud of the success and achievements of its CSR programs, which draws from the values of leadership and partnership so as to create a positive impact on Omani society. The Green Sports initiative, which was launched by Bank Muscat in 2012, has supported 143 sports teams across Oman till date. It is estimated that the total number of people who have so far benefitted from this programme throughout the country is about 42,900.

Bank Muscat's CSR and sustainability programmes have been well appreciated and received a number of accolades. The bank was recently honoured by the Ministry of Social Development and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its efforts in supporting persons with disabilities. Earlier in 2021, the bank also won the Middle East Sustainability Award from EMEA Finance.
