Bank Millennium S A : app is the first app for Huawei smartphones with BLIK contactless payments

Bank Millennium's mobile app is the first banking app for Huawei smartphones, which enables users to make the extremely convenient BLIK contactless payments.

- We were the first on the market to introduce BLIK contactless payments and are gradually making them available to customers. Most users of Huawei smartphones with our app can already use this solution. We see how dynamically the habits of our customers are changing as they increasingly often choose mobile devices for payments, instead of cards. This trend will for sure be getting stronger - Halina Karpińska, Director of the Electronic Banking Department, said.

- BLIK contactless payments are a breakthrough solution. We are glad that users of Huawei smartphones will be able to use it as the first ones in Poland. Additionally from now on for the first time they will be able to pay with their phone in contactless form. We are confident that they will like this solution and it will soon enough become their preferred form of payment in terminals - said Marcin Waldowski, Director of the Product Development Department in Polski Standard Płatności - the BLIK operator.

- This is a breakthrough moment for us because thanks to BLIK and its cooperation with banks the question of smartphone payments reaches a completely new level. Mutual trust allows us to provide customers with the best possible solutions, putting their needs always in the centre of our activities - said Witold Walczak, Ecosystem Development Director in Huawei CBG Polska.

BLIK contactless payments is a new solution, which is gradually released to BLIK users. Users of Bank Millennium's mobile app are the first to be able to use it, also including users of the latest Huawei smartphones with HMS, who use the bank's app. These payments do not require logging-on to the bank's app - all it takes is to unlock the phone (with NFC functionality) and put it close to the terminal - without entering the code, without the need to sign the card or even without an internet connection.

Bank Millennium's mobile app was integrated with Huawei Mobile Services in March this year and is available to users of all Huawei smartphones, also the latest models based on Huawei's proprietary ecosystem: Mate 40, including Mate 40 Pro, P40 and Y - Y6p and Y5p phones, P smart 2021 phones, Mate 30 smartphones, as well as the innovative foldable Mate Xs phone.
