Avanza is teaming up with the successful fund manager Fredrik Skoglund to launch the small-cap fund Avanza Småbolag by Skoglund. This actively managed fund will focus on innovative Swedish small-cap companies with high growth potential. The main themes are sustainability, digitisation and transformation. The fund is exclusively available to Avanza’s customers.

The master fund FE Småbolag Sverige is actively managed by the highly successful and experienced fund manager Fredrik Skoglund.

The fund has a long investment horizon and invests in innovative, fast-growing Swedish companies with a market cap of SEK 0 to SEK 75 billion, with a focus on the lower end of the range. Sustainability will be an important part of the fund’s management and integrated in the process of selecting companies. In addition to sustainability, trends in digitisation and transformation will also be important themes in the fund’s management. In other words, companies that profit on the changing behaviours in society.

“This is ideal for me. I have worked with equity research and fund management for 22 years. My goal is to create the highest possible return. I am convinced that tomorrow’s winners will be found among small companies that challenge the giants,” says fund manager Fredrik Skoglund.

Avanza Småbolag by Skoglund is an exclusive collaboration between Avanza and Fredrik Skoglund and can only be traded through Avanza. It is one of the cheapest actively managed small-cap funds for individual investors on the market. The fund’s total fee is estimated at 1.30 per cent. This is a highly competitive fee level compared with many other small-cap funds.

“Smaller companies have in the last 20 years returned nearly three times as much as large caps. I have also been able to closely follow Fredrik’s successful management. That’s why I am especially happy today to launch another attractive alternative for our customers’ fund portfolios,” says Rikard Josefson, CEO of Avanza.

Avanza Småbolag by Skoglund is a feeder fund that invests at least 85% (and in practice 100%) of its assets in a master fund company. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Investments in securities may both increase and decrease in value and there is no guarantee that you will get back your original investment.
