For the fifteenth time, AS Merko Ehitus has been declared the most competitive company in Estonia in the category of construction companies. This year, a total of 1,618 Estonian companies participated in the competition organised by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The aim of the Estonian Companies' Competitiveness Ranking is to facilitate the improvement of competitiveness of Estonian companies and thereby promote faster development of the Estonian economy. The ranking highlights the most successful companies and offers a great opportunity for successful companies to introduce themselves to the public, thereby securing their competitive position even further.

The Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has compiled the Estonian Companies' Competitiveness Ranking since 2003. Within the framework of the competition, the general companies' competitiveness ranking is compiled on the basis of economic indicators. The indicators of economic activities of the last two years are taken into account, which include sales revenue, net profit, equity, number of employees and labour costs. The data analysis and compilation of rankings is carried out by the Estonian Institute of Economic Research in cooperation with the Lausanne Institute for Management Development.
