Webshop is experimenting with tags on products that are frequently returned. In this way, it hopes to combat frequent returns and allow shoppers to make more conscious choices.

Those who occasionally shop online on Amazon may soon notice that some products are labeled frequently returned items. The American webshop is currently experimenting with this, reports the magazine .

Frequently returned items

Currently, Amazon, like many other online stores, allows you to return items for free. Still, this costs a lot of money for Amazon itself because they take care of shipping costs, among other things. They also need extra employees to sort and eventually repackage returns. That's why the online store now decides to put a label on items that are returned remarkably often.

Returns are also a big deal and often a burden for the buyer. The new tag should cause shoppers to make more conscious choices. For example, people would be deterred by the tag and more likely to look at the reviews or the description. Eventually, some will look for a higher-quality alternative. When the new feature will take full effect with us is not yet clear.

Savings

It is the second experiment in a month at Amazon. Previously, the online store listed with products how many times they had already been sold. Amazon CEO Andrew Jassy is also always looking for ways to cut costs. In November and January, the e-commerce giant already laid off 18,000 employees. Another followed last week
