Shares of industrial and transportation companies fell after a cautious growth outlook from one major machinery maker.

Deere & Co. shares plunged after the farming-and-industrial machinery maker cut its projection for demand from the overseas agriculture, turf, forestry and road-building markets.

Hyundai Motor Group plans to build a $5.5 billion manufacturing complex in Georgia dedicated to making electric vehicles, the latest in a wave of new auto-factory investment flowing to the U.S. South.

German automaker Porsche is developing new privacy settings for its luxury cars as part of a new strategy to expand customers' trust.
