The FTSE 100 closed down 0.1% on Tuesday as weakness for AstraZeneca and Unilever drag the index lower, IG's chief market analyst Chris Beauchamp says in a note. Ocado shares were the biggest fallers, ending down 9.3% after the online grocer and retail-technology specialist's fourth-quarter numbers were poorly received, but the reason for the day's drop was AstraZeneca and Unilever, Beauchamp says. "This looks like a temporary interruption to the index's victorious progress however--the trading statement season has gone well so far for U.K. firms, providing a foundation for further gains in the near-term," Beauchamp adds. SSE finished the day as the biggest gainer, up 2.1%.
