Shares of energy companies rose alongside oil futures on a volatile trading session after reassurances from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.

In Texas, meanwhile, oilfields and refineries are still returning to full capacity. Snowstorms in Texas knocked about 40% of U.S. crude production off line last week, said Robbie Fraser, manager of global research and analytics at Schneider Electric.
