BoE's Haskel: too soon to say if vaccines mean big boost for economy

LONDON (Reuters) - Bank of England interest-rate setter Jonathan Haskel said it was too soon to know whether progress on developing COVID-19 vaccines would prompt the central bank to upgrade its economic forecasts for 2021 significantly, according to PA Media.

"There's no question that (a vaccine) has a positive impact on the economic outlook," PA Media quoted Haskel as saying in an interview.

He also said there was "plenty that we can do" in terms of monetary policy options to support the economy.
