Amazon, the e-commerce behemoth, is no longer keeping its ambitions in the health sector hidden. After expressing interest in acquiring Signify Health, a technology platform for healthcare professionals and health insurance plans in the United States, the company announced this week that it will close its Amazon Care business, which provides medical consultation and teleconsultation to businesses, by the end of the year.

Amazon would consider a new strategy to attack the health sector, given that it is a priority development axis. Jeff Bezos' company also announced the acquisition of the private healthcare network One Medical for $3.9 billion at the end of July, following the launch of Amazon Pharmacy, a prescription drug delivery platform, in 2020. The healthcare industry appears to be a natural extension for the tech titans, where they can deploy their artificial intelligence and data management wonders. So, when will Amazon Prime marketed syringes be available?
