International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Tuesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 0.9% to 140.16. The European index decreased 0.9% to 131.08, the Asian index fell 1% to 171.24, the Latin American index dropped 0.9% to 180.90 and the emerging markets index decreased 1.4% to 290.47.

Li Auto Inc. and Kraft Heinz Co. were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.

ADRs of Li Auto fell 6% after the company said it will sell up to an aggregate US$2 billion of American depositary shares.

ADRs of Kraft Heinz fell 2.4% following a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement with oil-and-gas company Repsol SA, which is designed to help Kraft Heinz reach its goal of having the majority of its electricity come from renewable sources by 2025. ADRs of Repsol rose 1.8%.

ADRs of Akzo Nobel NV fell 3% after the Dutch paint company said Gregoire Poux-Guillaume would become chief executive officer on Nov. 1, succeeding Thierry Vanlancker.
