ABI Association of British Insurers : welcomes the Housing Community and Local Government Select Committee’s report on the draft Building Safety Bill

The Housing Community and Local Government Select Committee has today published its report on the draft Building Safety Bill.

'We warmly welcome the Housing Community and Local Government Select Committee's report on the draft Building Safety Bill. The new legislation represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver fundamental reform of the regulatory framework for building and construction and improve the safety of the built environment so it is vital we get it right. Pre-consultation by the Government has been helpful and the HCLG Select Committee's recommendations, including calling on the Government to publish further detail on the proposed new regime, will further improve the legislation once it is formally introduced in to Parliament'
