NOC National Oil : The 11th meeting of the permanent committee for identifying the needs of key consumers of natural gas and the alternative liquid fuel
In continuation of the monthly meetings held by the committee of key consumers of natural gas and the alternative liquid fuel, the committee held its eleventh meeting on Monday 6/11/2017 in Benghazi city. The meeting, which was hosted by Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, was in presence of Mr. Oneis As-seiti General Manager of Central and Eastern Regions at the Company and members of the committee of key suppliers and consumers from Sirte Oil Company, Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), General Desalination Company of Libya (GDCOL), Libyan Iron and Steel Company and cement plants.
The meeting discussed the mechanism for providing the needs of the main consumers of natural gas and the alternative liquid fuel during November and December 2017 according to the financial allocations approved by the Ministry of Finance this year and the difficulties that NOC faces in providing such hydrocarbons despite the shortage of budgets.
The meeting also approached the method by which the heavy oil, which is necessary for operating Derna Desalination Plant and Tobruk Vapor Compression Desalination Plant, will be provided. It also discussed the ongoing preparations for the winter peak season and taking some prompt measures by Sirte Oil Company to prepare and provide with the equipment for the maintenance of pressure reducing station in Benina District by this November so that North Benghazi and Zueitina plants will be operated in ideal conditions during the next winter peak season.
In this regard, the attendees referred to the important role of PFGs in protecting the natural gas pipelines, because these lines are subject to many violations, which cause many problems in supplying operations.
At the end of the meeting, the needs for natural gas and the alternative liquid fuel were identified as per the information mentioned in the meeting.
