FTSE 100 Tipped to Rise; Asia, US Markets Fall

0728 GMT - The FTSE 100 is expected to open 35 points higher at 7480, according to CMC Markets, despite downbeat trading in Asia and on Wall Street. Markets in mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan all fall and the Dow closed 0.4% lower. "Tuesday's European open looks set to be a positive one, as we look ahead to today's testimony from Fed chairman Jay Powell at his re-nomination hearing in Washington, D.C. to the Senate Banking Committee," CMC analyst Michael Hewson says.
