India Consumer-Price Index's Rise Accelerated in March

India's consumer-price index rose in March at a faster pace than in the previous month, government data showed Monday.

The benchmark consumer-price index increased 5.52% in March compared with the same period a year earlier, accelerating from a 5.03% rise in February.

The urban consumer-price index for March rose 6.52% on year while the rural reading increased 4.61%, the data showed.
