Somfy SA is No. 1 worldwide in the design, manufacture, and marketing of motors and automatic opening and closing systems for homes and buildings. The group's products are mainly intended for awnings, rolling shutters, windows, gates, garage doors, storefront grills, and for protecting large utility facilities.

Products are marketed through building entry manufacturers, assemblers, professional installers, and large DIY stores.

At the end of 2021, the group had 8 production sites throughout the world.

Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (29.2%), Germany (14.3%), Northern Europe (11.4%), Southern Europe (10.1%), Eastern Europe (10.3%), Central Europe (3.4%), North America (9%), Africa/Middle East (5.4%), Asia/Pacific (5.2%) and Latin America (1.7%).
