Novatek on Monday reported lower production and sales in the second quarter on year.

The Russian natural-gas producer said its hydrocarbon production fell 2.5% April through June from a year earlier, to 145.3 million barrels of oil equivalent. As a result, first-half offtake was 0.2% lower at 295.5 million barrels.

Natural gas sales volumes declined 9.9% in the second quarter to 16.9 billion cubic meters. This was largely driven by a 32% slump in international sales. Novatek blamed lower spot market sales at the Yamal liquefied natural gas export terminal for the drops.

Shares in London at 0802 GMT were up $0.5, or 0.3%, at $148.1.
