COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ L Brands Inc. (LB) on Wednesday reported a loss of $252 million in its fiscal third quarter.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 91 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 2 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 2 cents per share.

The owner of Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works and other chain stores posted revenue of $2.68 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.69 billion.

L Brands expects full-year earnings to be $2.40 per share.

L Brands shares have dropped 38% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 24%. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $15.96, a fall of 44% in the last 12 months.
