JPMorgan Chase & Co. has hired Duncan Mann to head its financial sponsor coverage in Australia and New Zealand, according to an internal announcement seen by The Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Mann, a former Credit Suisse banker, will join the U.S. investment bank in November as head of financial sponsors. He will also become co-head of industrials coverage alongside Seth Schwartz, according to the announcement.

Financial sponsor bankers work with private equity firms, helping them to put together buyouts and to take portfolio companies public. A JPMorgan spokeswoman confirmed the appointment.

Prior to the latest appointment, Mr. Mann was head of financial sponsors for Australia and New Zealand at Credit Suisse, where he was also responsible for industrials coverage. He also spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank, based in Hong Kong and Sydney.
