BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ Hibbett Sports Inc. (HIBB) on Tuesday reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $15.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Birmingham, Alabama-based company said it had a loss of 92 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, came to 31 cents per share.

The sporting goods retailer posted revenue of $269.8 million in the period.

Hibbett shares have declined 30% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen nearly 2% in the last 12 months.
