General de Seguros SAB is a Mexico-based company primarily engaged in the insurance sector. The Company's products and services are specialized in the provision of direct life, health insurance, property and casualty insurance and benefit plans for employees, as well as insurance policies for aircraft, boats and agricultural and livestock, among others. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned two subsidiaries: General de Salud Compania de Seguros SA and Red Medica de Salud Administrada SA de CV, and Pena Verde SAB which was its major shareholder with 24.3% of its interest.
