Berkeley : New community hub opens at Dickens Yard

The new Christ the Saviour Ealing Community Hub Ealing has opened at Dickens Yard, following a handover by St George to Christ the Saviour Parish Church in Ealing. Providing public space for the local residents and church, the community room will also be used by the affiliated Christ the Saviour Church of England Primary School.

The community celebrated the opening of the community hub at a handover event where attendees included the Vicar Fr Richard, Church Warden Jackie Ashmenall, along with Head School Teacher Katie Tramoni and several church committee members. Representatives from St George greeted the church attendees and provided a short tour around the facility, before socialising over tea and coffee.

Christ the Saviour Church is situated in the heart of Ealing Broadway and was consecrated by the bishop of London on 30th June 1852. It was designed by best-known architect of the time, Sir Gilbert Scott and has undergone several refurbishments following being bombed in the Second World War.

Steve Kirwan, Operations Director, St George said: 'The opening of the new Christ the Saviour Ealing Community Hub is an important milestone for the local community and Ealing's continued regeneration. It will provide a hugely important space for the local church and school to use for a variety of activities and we are pleased to have been a part of this journey in strengthening the area's strong community spirit.'

We are thrilled that St George has delivered on its commitment to provide this space which will be a fantastic asset for the church and will ultimately benefit the wider Ealing community.'

Dickens Yard is a new lifestyle quarter in Ealing centred around an elegantly landscaped public square, with an array of shops, restaurants and cafes, and 700 new homes. Dickens Yard plays a significant role in the wider regeneration of Ealing ahead of the arrival of the Elizabeth Line at Ealing Broadway station, and is fast becoming a new destination in West London.

Filmworks, also by St George, is within close proximity to Dickens Yard. Located at the heart of Ealing, Filmworks plays a crucial role in Ealing's evolution as a destination that is one of the finest places to live and work in the capital.
