Sports Desk, May 12 (EFE).- Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a nervous 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Arsenal opened the scoring when Kai Havertz was allowed to run unchallenged into the box and pull back for Leandro Trossard to tap in.

While United dominated possession during much of the second half, Arsenal were rarely threatened thanks to stout defending and sloppy attacking from the home side.

It was Arsenal, in fact, who looked the more likely to add a third, and while their fans were nervous throughout the closing stages, United never looked capable of breaking through the Gunners' defense.

The win lifts Arsenal back above Manchester City by one point, although the champions have a game in hand and will regain the lead if they win at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
